Project Goal

Kemper was using a system for claims that included a lot of manual hours from their agents when determining insurance claims. Steps included data entry, coordination, and communication. They needed something that could maintain their high-level of standards for data integrity, while also being efficient at processing policies.

The solution also needed to account for differences in how individual states handled insurance claims. This included existing laws, but also needed to scale to any new standards that may happen in the future.

Finally, the passing of all the information had to meet ACORD data standards for insurance companies, so Kemper could continue to be a leader in the insurance space.

Our Approach

  • Designing an agent portal to automate their insurance claim process.
  • Building a backend to support the agent portal, while also creating a unified environment which accounts for various state-specific formulas.
  • Integrating with various internal systems together, including billing, claims, underwriting, forms, and accounting processes.
  • Upgrading their systems to a real-time resilience service to meet ACORD insurance industry standards.
  • Maintaining and updating systems based on new legislation.
