As a Mom of three, I pride myself on being thrifty. And who doesn't love finding a great deal? So on the rare weekend that I have an hour or two to myself, you might see me in Eco Relics or one of the furniture consignment shops nearby, perusing their wares. As I walk down each aisle, I don't just see a bunch of old junk. Instead, I marvel at the history on display, visualizing in my mind what I can do to bring out new life from these well-worn household items. It's deeply satisfying to solve unique challenges through a little bit of elbow grease mixed with a dash of creativity.

For example,  what if you just bought a new puppy and the beds at the pet store aren't quite right? Easy fix: I just take a drawer out of an old dresser, sand it down, attach 4 short risers, paint everything, upholster the inside, and voila! Small doggy bed for your little fur baby.

Or what if you need some Etsy-style home decorations? I just cut 4x4s into shapes and sand them down, then dry-brush each piece with orange, white and brown for a distressed look before drawing on pumpkin faces or hand-lettering. Finish them off by hot-gluing a wine cork or a stick to the top, and you are ready for both Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Whether it's small custom furniture for sale on Facebook Marketplace or filling bulk supply orders through a large corporate ecommerce website, the same principle applies. Namely that if the customer for your product can't find you, they can't buy. A lot of people look for very specific solutions to a problem, but can't always find exactly what they need at the right price. They search in Google, Bing, Amazon, Facebook and more, just to scroll through pages of results, dozens of images, and hundreds of products... but end up getting nowhere.

One part of the challenge is that business websites are frequently not designed and structured to deliver the ideal digital customer to your company's website products. The site might be built in a modern CMS, with all the correct company branding, styling and product details. But then the user flows don't produce results. I've seen sites built by other vendors with incorrect page schema (or none at all). Other sites have duplicative content and draw unqualified leads who don't click-through to close a sale. None of that helps.

Now on top of all that, the upcoming transition to Google Analytics 4 will likely result in a major drop in total website visitor volume for companies who aren't proactively addressing their underlying markup. The good news is it's not too late to act and update your analytics to the most current version so you can accurately gauge performance and pivot as needed. A little bit of work now will mean a lot less heartache later. Because we want your inventory and services continuing to bring in revenue, instead of just gathering dust and going from chic to shabby.
