Web Site Design

We scrutinize your website's design from the home page to the contact list. A poorly designed layout can make your website difficult to navigate and use, ultimately resulting in lost business. DiscoverTec employs professional design analysts, information architects, and graphic designers who can address your layout issues.

Our designer’s goal is to make your site accessible and visually appealing. With the talent and expertise of our graphic designers, your website will become an online environment that breathes life into your business.

What is Included in the Website Design Process?

Now that we understand the scope of your project and your business objectives and used this understanding in our strategic analysis we not set about outlining the details and organizing the specifics of your website or web application. Our design process moves incrementally, working with the client through each the following steps:

  1. Sitemap Development: High level visual overview of website.
  2. Content Inventory: Spreadsheet documenting of all existing and needed content such as web site copy and images.
  3. Wireframes: Presents the layout and structure of the website. Focus is on structure and navigation.
  4. Design Compositions: Before coding the website we make an image of how the website design will look for your approval.

Web Design: Points of Consideration

Usability: At every step of the web development process usability, the ability for visitors to your site to find the information or accomplish the task in a straightforward and direct manner, is taken into account. Particular attention is paid to usability during the design process to ensure site visitors find what they want instead of becoming discouraged and leaving your site for a competitors' website.

Adaptability: Can your website adapt to changing cirsumstances and events online and off? Will your design accommodate seasonal changes such as promotions or product specials? Will the website design strain if you decide to begin offering newsletter signups or embed video on some secondary pages? A website design does not need to be completely adaptable to every circumstance, however the future of the site and the likely changes should be taken into account during the design process.

Scalability: Like adaptability, the ability for a website to be scalable isn't always a necessity but should always be a consideration before comitting to a design. Will you be adding more content or new sections to the site? Will you be offering new services and functionality for your registered users sometime in the future? These considerations need to be discussed and taken into account before comitting to a layout and webdesign.
